IKEA BESTÃ… is a modular frame that suits a media wall. What tells people it came flat-packed is the fronts, the visible carcass edges and the top. Here is how to make a BESTÃ… run look like a built-in piece of furniture, and what it costs.
Start with the fronts
Our BESTÃ… doors and drawer fronts are made to IKEA's BESTÃ… measurements, with hinge holes drilled to suit IKEA's standard hinges. They come in painted (any Dulux colour), unpainted, woodgrain laminate, NAVURBANâ„¢, Laminex and Polytec, across profiles from Plain and Slim Shaker to Coastal, Round Shaker and Arch. Wrap the carcass with a top and side panels
A top covers the BESTÃ… carcass and fixes on with double-sided tape; side panels finish the exposed ends and screw on from inside. For a streamlined look, we suggest using both.
- Tops are sized to the run, with a version for no side panels, one side panel or two, so the top also covers the side panels.
- Most finishes go up to a 240 cm top. Painted tops go to 244 cm, to cover a 240 cm run plus two side panels.
- For a longer run of BESTÃ… units, you need more than one top.

What does a BESTÃ… media wall cost?
Most BESTÅ media-wall projects with our fronts fall between $1,000 and $2,000, depending on size, finish and profile. As priced in October 2026, painted Coastal BESTÅ doors are $240 for a 60 × 38 cm door and $315 for 60 × 64 cm, and a painted 240 cm top is $570 to $580 depending on side panels.
The worked example on our How it Works page is a 240 cm wide BESTÃ… TV unit: a painted top, two side panels and four painted profile doors with oak handles came to $1,860 from Customea, plus $340 of IKEA units, hinges and suspension rails: $2,200 all up, before delivery and installation.
