Wall of IKEA PAX wardrobes with full-height walnut woodgrain laminate doors in a bedroom

An IKEA PAX wardrobe with custom doors costs two things: the IKEA frame and fittings, and the doors and panels that go on it. Our PAX projects start from about $1,500 per wardrobe, and most fall between $2,000 and $4,500, depending on size, finish and profile. This guide breaks that down piece by piece with our live prices, so you can estimate your own.

What does each door cost?

Door prices depend on the frame and the finish. Here are painted (2Pac) Shaker doors for each standard PAX frame, as priced on our site in October 2026:

Frame Doors 201 cm frame 236 cm frame
50 cm wide One door $660 $750
75 cm wide A pair of doors $1,020 $1,155
100 cm wide Two 50 cm doors $1,320 $1,500

Painted doors cost the same in a standard colour or any Dulux colour. Starting prices per door across all PAX sizes: painted from $290, NAVURBANâ„¢ from $280, woodgrain laminate from $195 and unpainted from $105. See every size and finish on our PAX wardrobe doors page.

What do drawers add?

For 236 cm frames, our painted Shaker doors-and-drawers sets put doors above four drawer fronts that fit IKEA's KOMPLEMENT drawers. In October 2026 they cost $1,500 for a 100 cm frame, $1,155 for a 75 cm frame and $750 for a 50 cm frame. The IKEA drawers themselves are bought from IKEA.

What do panels and fillers cost?

Side panels cover the exposed side of a frame. A painted Plain side panel is $795 for a 236 cm frame and $680 for a 201 cm frame. A 10 cm painted filler, for closing a gap beside a wall, is $160 at 236 cm and $115 at 201 cm.

What does it cost to reach the ceiling?

Our PAX extension cabinets sit on top of the frames to close the gap to the ceiling. In painted Plain with doors, they cost:

Width 30 cm tall 40 cm tall 50 cm tall 60 cm tall
50 cm $235 $275 $315 $355
75 cm $330 $390 $445 $505
100 cm $405 $485 $560 $640

Browse them on the PAX extension cabinets page.

What does IKEA charge for its part?

You buy the PAX frames, hinges and internal fittings from IKEA. In the worked example on our How it Works page, a 100 × 58 × 236 cm PAX frame was $240 and a 4-pack of KOMPLEMENT hinges was $40. Those are IKEA's prices at the time, so check IKEA for today's, and add any shelves, rails and drawers you want inside.

A worked example

From our How it Works page: a 100 cm wide PAX with two painted profile doors (50 × 235 cm), two painted side panels and two handles came to $3,133 from Customea plus $280 from IKEA, $3,413 all up, before delivery and installation.

How do you price your own wardrobe?

  • From an IKEA plan. Export your PAX design from IKEA's planner as a PDF and upload it to our Instant Quote tool. It prices every door in the plan; add side panels and extension cabinets separately.
  • By hand. Add up the frames, doors, panels and extensions from the tables above, or build your order directly from our IKEA PAX range.

Delivery is extra: a flat $250 for Sydney metro, free pickup from our Mortdale factory, or freight by cart value elsewhere. Our guide to IKEA PAX hacks shows where each of these pieces earns its place.
