Custom doors for IKEA PAX

Make your IKEA PAX look custom.

Designer-grade doors and panels. Made in our Sydney factory. Shipped Australia-wide in 4–6 weeks.

The PAX problem (and the fix)

PAX is a great start. The fronts are where it falls flat.

The problem
Standard PAX fronts give the IKEA look away.
You picked PAX for the price, the layout flexibility, the size options. Smart move. But the standard fronts? They're the bit that tells everyone the wardrobe came flat-packed.

Lightweight materials. Limited colours. Visible kickboard at the floor.
The fix
Custom doors that hide the IKEA tells.
Customea doors fit the same PAX carcasses — but in premium painted, NAVURBAN, woodgrain laminate or matte laminate finishes, in the profile and colour that suits the room.

Our doors are 51mm longer than IKEA's, so they hide the kickboard for a built-in look without skirting.

Same cabinets. Completely different wardrobe.

Make it look built-in

Two add-ons IKEA forgot.

The bits that make a row of PAX read as built-in joinery rather than a flatpack wardrobe — both Customea exclusives. PAX extension cabinets push the wardrobe to the ceiling. Open PAX cabinets fill the awkward sub-500mm spaces IKEA can't.

PAX Extension Cabinets · Customea exclusive

Floor-to-ceiling, no awkward gap.

IKEA doesn't make extension cabinets for PAX. We do. They sit on top of your standard PAX units to take the wardrobe all the way to the ceiling — the single biggest difference between a PAX wardrobe and a built-in.

Available in standard IKEA widths and 30/40/50/60cm high.

Same finish, same profile, same colour as your Customea doors below.

Open PAX Cabinets · Customea exclusive

Got an awkward narrow space? Use it.

IKEA's smallest PAX wardrobe is 500mm wide. If your space is smaller, you're stuck. Our 40cm wide open PAX cabinets fit the gaps under 50cm, providing a functional and beautiful solution.

Available in NAVURBAN finish only — beautiful enough to leave on display.

Why Customea over other options

5 reasons our doors are worth it.

IKEA's standard PAX fronts are $60–$240. Our options start at $420 (for laminate) a door. Here's where the difference goes.

01
Doors that hide the kickboard
Our doors are 51mm longer than IKEA's (1997mm vs 1946mm) so they sit almost flush to the floor. No visible kickboard. No skirting needed. The single biggest tell of an IKEA wardrobe — gone.
02
Higher-quality materials
2pac paint, premium NAVURBAN textures, hard-wearing laminate. Materials that look and feel like real joinery — because that's what they are.
03
Australian suppliers, made in Sydney
Designed and manufactured in our Sydney factory. Australian materials. Faster turnaround. Easier support. No shipping container delays from overseas.
04
Made to order in 4–6 weeks
Each door is built specifically for your order — not pulled from a flat-pack warehouse. Made-to-order finish quality, with the speed that lets you plan your reno around it.
05
Custom colours — actually any colour
Painted 2pac in any colour you choose. A soft warm white. A deep charcoal. A warm clay. A sage green. Not a curated 9-colour palette like everyone else. You decide the colour.

*Available for our painted 2pac range available in a selection of profiles.

We ordered doors for the 235cm tall bottom cabinets, as well as for the upper cabinet extensions (60cm tall) which were perfect for our 3m+ high ceilings.

Common questions

The questions everyone asks.

If your question isn't here, see our full list of FAQs. Or reach out and our team replies to most enquiries within a few hours during business days.

I haven't planned my PAX yet — what do I do first? +
Start with IKEA's free PAX planner online. Lay out the carcasses that fit your space, save your plan, and you'll know how many doors you need.

You can also book in for a design appointment with IKEA. Then find our matching size items on our website and add to cart. You don't need to measure anything. (Don't forget our doors are longer so the doors are either 200 or 235cm H.)

Add side panels, filler panels or matching extension cabinets if required to really create that buit in look.
Will your doors actually fit my PAX? +
Yes. Our PAX range is sized to IKEA's exact carcass dimensions — with one difference. Our doors are 51mm longer (1997mm vs 1946mm) so they hide the cabinet kickboard. We drill the same hinge holes to fit your IKEA PAX hinges.
Do you make doors for PAX extension cabinets? +
We make the extension cabinets too — IKEA doesn't. PAX extension cabinets sit above the standard PAX units to take the wardrobe to ceiling height. Both the cabinet and the matching door come from us.
Do you make sliding doors for PAX? +
No, we only make hinged doors.
Do you make mirror/glass/rattan doors for PAX? +
No, we only make solid doors.
Do you make a 75cm door for PAX? +
No, the 75cm solution (that IKEA doesn't have) is actually a set of doors at 37cm W x2. We sell these as a pair. All other doors are sold individually.
I need a custom door for my PAX, can you help? +
Yes, you can order all sorts of custom szie items such as doors, drawer fronts, fillers & panels via our CUSTOM SIZE page. Please note that custom hinge drilling is not the same as the PAX drilling.
Can I install them myself? +
Most customers use a professional installer. The doors are pre-drilled to fit standard cabinet hinges. If you're confident with a drill, you can DIY — but it's not required.
How long does delivery take? +
4–6 weeks from order. Each door is made to order in our Sydney factory. We recommend ordering your IKEA cabinets around the same time so you can have everything fitted on the same day.
Can I see the doors in person? +
Yes. Visit our Tempe showroom (600 Princes Hwy, NSW) Monday to Saturday, 10am–4pm. Or order samples from $5.
What about cover panels and filler panels? +
Cover panels finish any exposed cabinet sides. Filler panels bridge gaps between cabinets and walls or ceilings. Both available in the same finishes as the doors and are available in the standard section of the shop.
For special sizing please order via our CUSTOM SIZE page. We don't make kicks for PAX — our doors are 51mm longer and sit flush to the floor, so no kick is needed.
Why are your doors more expensive than IKEA's? +
Three reasons:
Materials — we use 2pac paint, NAVURBAN, and premium laminate where IKEA uses budget particleboard and foil.
Size- Our doors are 51mm longer than IKEA's, hiding the kickboard for a built-in finish.
And custom colour — any colour in painted 2pac, not just a limited range.
